Mark as pirate Not a pirate

Your photos are the first thing copycats take.

A good product shoot costs a day of work or a photographer's invoice; a copycat saves the photos in a minute and uses them to sell knockoffs of what you make, usually for less.

Shoppers can't always tell the knockoff from yours, some of them buy it, and your sales leak away. Finding these stores by hand takes hours of searching, and new ones keep appearing.

Install it once and let PirateCheck do the hunting.

  1. Add it to your store

A few clicks in the Shopify App Store.

  2. It learns your catalogue

So cropped or recoloured copies still get caught.

  3. Copies come to you

Every match lands in one tidy list.

  4. Take them down

One click gets you a notice that's ready to send.

Wherever your photos end up, we go looking.

  • Online stores passing your photos off as their own.
  • Lookalike websites borrowing your brand.
  • Marketplace listings selling with your pictures.

And the list of places we check keeps growing.

Evidence that makes your case for you.

Mark a store as a pirate and PirateCheck puts the whole case together in one PDF, ready for the host or marketplace.

  • Your photo and theirs, side by side, with the web address of each copy.
  • Dated screenshots of up to 50 copy pages per store, as proof.
  • The formal wording a takedown notice needs, filled in with your details.

Give it a read, add your signature and send it off.

Notices come with every paid plan.

Questions store owners ask

What counts as a copy?
A product photo on another store that is your photo, or an edited version of it. PirateCheck compares photos, not names, so a store can't hide your picture behind a new product title.
Will it catch knockoffs and dupes?
Whenever a knockoff seller lists with your product photos, yes, and borrowing your photos is the quickest way to put a knockoff up for sale. Dupes, fakes and cheap copies all show up the same way: your picture on someone else's store.
Does it find edited photos?
Yes. We still spot your photo when someone crops it, shifts the colours, adds a border or flips it.
Do you send the notice for me?
You stay in charge of that part. Download the notice as a PDF and send it to the company that hosts the store, or to the marketplace. PirateCheck isn't a law firm and doesn't give legal advice.
Which marketplaces do you cover?
When your photos turn up in a marketplace listing, on eBay or Amazon for example, it shows in your results next to the stores.
What does the free scan show?
One scan of up to 100 of your products. You see 10 copies in full and a count of the rest; a paid plan unlocks all of them, takedown notices and regular re-checks. Prices are on the App Store listing.
Does it slow down my store?
No. PirateCheck gets your products from Shopify and adds nothing to your store, so your pages and checkout don't change.
Will it flag my resellers?
It finds them, since resellers use your photos too. Mark a reseller's store Not a pirate once and you won't see it again.
